La deuxi\u00e8me diff\u00e9rence, c\u2019est que le premier connut un grand succ\u00e8s commercial et critique, dont l\u2019Oscar du film \u00e9tranger en 1939, alors que le second fut un colossal \u00e9chec critique et commercial. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019avec l\u2019apparition de la Nouvelle Vague qu\u2019il fut reconnut progressivement par tous comme l\u2019un des plus grand films de l\u2019histoire du cin\u00e9ma.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Un de leurs points communs est que <!--more-->ce sont tous les deux des films profond\u00e9ment humanistes. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si <em>La Grande illusion<\/em> est bien un film de guerre, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment un film d\u2019\u00e9vasion, il n\u2019est pas centr\u00e9 sur cette intrigue qui par la suite sera reprise, avec ou sans talent, par bien d\u2019autres r\u00e9alisateurs. Le v\u00e9ritable sujet, c\u2019est la division de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en classes sociales herm\u00e9tiques travers\u00e9es parfois par la fraternit\u00e9 et m\u00eame par l\u2019amiti\u00e9.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les deux extraits que vous pourrez voir si vous cliquez sur les liens ci-dessous montrent bien deux aspects essentiels du cinema de Renoir que j\u2019appellerai ici la th\u00e9\u00e2tralit\u00e9 et le r\u00e9alisme.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans le premier, on assiste \u00e0 une sc\u00e8ne de pur th\u00e9\u00e2tre dans laquelle des com\u00e9diens tr\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019aise r\u00e9unis dans une prison qui semble tout ce qu\u2019il y a de confortable \u00e9changent des r\u00e9pliques amusantes sur les maladies sp\u00e9cifiques qui affectent les classes sociales. C\u2019est brillant, spirituel et on a envie d\u2019applaudir.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans le second, le dialogue entre les deux \u00e9vad\u00e9s \u00e9puis\u00e9s, affam\u00e9s et transis n\u2019est plus du tout th\u00e9\u00e2tral. Il est r\u00e9aliste, naturel. Ils ne peuvent plus se supporter l\u2019un l\u2019autre, ils se d\u00e9testent et se le disent, m\u00e9chamment, naturellement.
